DAVID BOWLES

Assistant Director of Public Affairs , RSPCA

As the Assistant Director of Public Affairs, I coordinate the RSPCA's outward communications on our campaigns, and political work to deliver the RSPCA's messaging to the target audiences. The RSPCA is the oldest and largest animal organisation in the UK and has been at the centre of changing peoples' attitudes to animals and improving animal standards for nearly 200 years. The RSPCA has established itself as one of the key partners with Government. It influences decision makers to change legislative standards and improve enforcement and change the minds of consumers and corporate business to make long term change for animals owned as pets, used in farming, and research. I have worked with the RSPCA for 25 years and am a Board member of the Association of Cat and Dog Homes and of the Government's policy advisors on cat and dog issues the Canine and Feline Scientific Group.
