Sophie Timms

Sophie was appointed as Kier's Corporate Affairs Director in May 2021 with responsibility for the Group's government relations, communications and marketing.   Sophie has over 20 years' public and corporate affairs and communications experience and, prior to joining Kier, was Head of UK Corporate Affairs for Zurich Insurance where she led multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic and tactical communications, public affairs campaigns, media and stakeholder engagement and diversity and inclusion step-change.   In 2019, Sophie was awarded Freedom of the City of London for services to Diversity, was named in 2022's PR Week UK Power Book and is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).   Sophie is a member of construction and property industry's Mentoring Circle and Executive Sponsor of the Kier Ability Network, the Kier Building for Tomorrow Sustainability Pillar and the Kier Menopause Action Group.
